Default The old guard house

I noticed this as I was driving around Port Dover, Ontario, I don't know why but it caught my attention. The angle of the trees and also you can just make out the newer farm in the background. I was trying to recreate it as it was in it's time. I took 5 exposures and used the Nik HDR efex Pro-exe program to start with. I then brought the saturation down a bit and played with the vignette. Maybe a bit too much. Anyway does it keep that 'old" look to it? Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Here are some tutorials on creating the vintage look - Vintage and Aging Photo Effect Tutorials – The Ultimate Round-Up

Did your vignetting cause the sky to get blown out?

For me, it does have an old look and I like it. I like the angles and low saturation.
There are however some modern elements which could be left out, the farm in the distance and the two wires in upper right corner. Those could be easily cloned out. Also, the blown out sky behind the house is too much for me, it's like an a-bomb just expoded back there.

Unfortunately I did not get the effect I was looking for by blowing out the sky. I agree with you there. The other distraction could be gone you are right. I never noticed the wires untill you mentioned it. Thanks for the advice.
