Default Sugar Camp Trail

DSCF4576

I wanted to lead the eye down the path of this sugar camp trail - is it composed well for this idea? I also wanted the eye to see the metal buckets catching the maple sap from the trees on the left - are they noticeable enough? How is the B/W color/contrast? What would you do differently?

It looks like you cut off part of the trail on the right to fit the buckets in the shot. For me, the buckets are not that noticeable, as my eye goes to the trail. I think they have to be closer to the middle of the image to be noticeable. The B&W looks okay, but could use some more "pop." I think you image lacks pure blacks, which would give it more "pop."

I think a different angle might have helped -- you cut off one of the buckets and the road doesn't seem that interesting from this angle ...

I love the idea, but the composition is lacking a little as the others have already said. What lens were you using and what are your options? An ultra wide lens could add a lot of drama to the overall appearance. A levels adjustment would probably give you that added "pop" that is needed by bumping up the whites and the blacks in the shot.
