Took this photo from Liberty Island on a recent trip to New York City.
It was a pretty miserable day so I did the best with the tools I had. I'm very new to photography so any feedback (positive or negative) would be greatly appreciated. |

I was actually at about the same spot as you were. Couple of quick pointers that I heard more experienced people said again and again. 1. Try to not have the horizon at the middle of your frame, make it lower usually (or higher), horizon not at the middle tend to add more interestingness to the photo. In this particular photo, I have a feeling that you don't have an intended subject in mind, or the lens fail to emphasize it. You want to think about what your subject is, then focus on the subject.

Thanks for you comments guys. As I said in my post, I'm very new to photography and I'm just starting to really understand things like composition, subject focus etc. I posted this shot to basically see what areas people think I need to improve. For now I want to learn how to properly compose a shot and draw people in.
Thanks again for your comments ;-) |
