Smile Chateau Frontenac Quebec

I was walking with my wife and my 4 kids in the old side of Quebec city and I had to stop 5 sec to take this shot. I did not have a lot of time to compose this, but I think for a newb it was not to bad for a quick one. Let me know what you think of it and what could have been better. (Sorry for my English)

The photo itself is not bad but I don't see anything that grabs me in it.It also find that there is a slight tilt to the camera.

have you done any post processing? If this was my photo, I would try to follow the rule of thirds and get the tip of the building (I forget what it's called) into one of the "thirds" positions. I'd also add a little saturation/vibrance and the smallest amount of contrast.

do you mind if I play with this a little in photo shop to show you what I mean?

Thanks xxrayna, no problem go for it.

I want to see what you mean with the tip of the building, if I get it, you would crop most of the right side of the shot?

I will try to put more saturation to it, but I feel really newb asking this, but I don't know exacly what vibrance do to a picture.

Cropping it to position this into thirds is tough. I try to keep the rule of thirds in mind when I'm composing my shots.

I downloaded the photo off of here, which isn't the best quality to work with but I think it'll give you the right idea. I rotated the image 1 degree clockwise, upped the Vibrance 10 pts and saturation 5 pts. contrast has been raised to +19.

It's not too bad a picture and I quite like what xxrayna did to it to make it better composed. But I personally find the trees directly infront of the building quite distracting to the subject (i.e. building). perhaps next time try and find a clearly pathway to the building so that more of the building is not obscured.

good job tho
