Capture from a recent vacation. Looking for critiques on composition and PP. When I composed, I wanted to get a view of the sweeping view of the beach, but in doing so, I cutoff some of the palms. Is that distracting? As far as the PP, I upped contrast and saturation a bit. I wanted to deepen the blue sky, but any attempts at that looked off.

I like the composition of the photo and the cut off palm trees don't bother me at all.
The sky looks fake to me however, I would try taking down the saturation and playing with "selective" color if you have Photoshop. This should allow you to brighten up the color of the sky without giving the impression that it's been photoshopped. It may also brighten up the water, which seems a bit dull in the photo. |

I think it's a good shot. The cut off trees do not bother me. The sky does not look fake to me either. I do feel that all of the visual interest in the shot is on the right side, so it feels a bit unbalanced to me. However, I cannot suggest another composition to give the sweeping feeling.
