Default Moonbeam Laser

Hello everyone. I took this last night after the sun went down. In an earlier shot i accidentally kept zooming after the timer went off and noticed the effect it had on the moon, so i decided to use this and see what i got and this is the result. The moonbeam being inline with the telephone line wasn't deliberate but a happy coincidence. I have adjusted it slightly in photoshop but not too much as i'm still learning how to use it. If you have a look at my flickr page you'll see another version of this shot but cropped and with the telephone pole straight. Which shot is better? Also any tips on improving this in photoshop and advice on how i could off improved the composition etc are appreciated. Thanks, Neil.

This is an unusual shot and I'm not sure how to critique it. I'm suspecting that's why no one else has either. That's definitely a cool effect that I haven't seen before. I will say that the light streak in the lower left corner is distracting. I'm still trying to decide if I like the telephone wire in there or not.

I do find myself wondering what the beam is aimed at. However, it probably would have been difficult to compose the shot and show the beam hitting a target. It's just that when I see a photo, my brain wants to know the story behind it and I can't figure out a story for this one. I'd like to give you more to go on, but that's all I can come up with for now. That is a really cool effect, though.

Im not sure how to critique this as well. I do however find myself trying to figure out how it seems the trees seem less affected by the zoom as well as the pole itself, kind of a visual puzzle illusion.

I also think it is fun to say "moonbeam laser" in the voice of Dr. Evil.

Thanks for the comments guys. I was wondering why it was taking so long for people to comment, now i see why and totally agree with you both, it is a bit of a weird one. I think the reason the tree etc don't look blurred is because they are not well lit and i zoomed in and out very quickly. Most of the other shots i took trying to get that effect are blurred but i zoomed slower and sometimes in stages which had the effect of multiple moons strung along the beam. However those shots looked awfull because of camera vibration. Maybe this shot would have looked better if i photoshopped a burning plane into the path of the beam, however thats beyond my skills. I agree that the beam needs a target. I'll have a think and maybe have another go. Thanks again.
