Dear folks,
I am new to photography. Last day I captured one image at the beach at sunset time. Actually I liked the composition. But i felt like the sun got enlarged in the picture and it got over exposed. What do you guys think? What all improvements are required on the photo. What kind of post processing can be done on this to make the image good? . Please advice. ![]() All sizes | Childrens playing footbal | Flickr - Photo Sharing! I would have went a little higher on the exposure just cause the sun is like 1-2 stops too bright
I love the image though and that change I recommend, you could do in Lightroom. Really really nice image!

For me, the large, blown out area of the sun dominates the image and as someone else here stated, your eye naturally tends to go to the lightest part of an image. Even if you shot RAW, I don't think you can recover any detail there because it is really blown out. You could give that a try, though. If you bracketed your shots, you might have one that wasn't so blown out.
It's tough to get everything exposed correctly when you shoot in the afternoon, so that's why we usually recommend taking your landscape shots in the Golden Hours when you have less dynamic range to contend with. I would also recommend you get familiar with the histogram function in your camera so you can tell when your images are over/underexposed.
