Default Bronzed Pope

Not particularly religious but really liked this pic I took of a local church.
Link is to the pic at my site but I also uploaded one.

Hello,

I like the composition of this photo, diagonal lines make it dynamic. My eye goes from the statue up towards the top of the church and then back to the statue, making it the prime subject. The church acts as background and it's not trying to grab my attention.

Regarding exposure, I find the bright area of sky on the right side to be somewhat distracting. This could have probably been avoided if you took it in a different time of day, when the sky was more evenly lit.
As a result of this, the photo has low contrast and the statue is not so bright as the church.
You could try to add some contrast, lower exposure of the sky and brighten up the statue a bit. I would also increase colour saturation a bit.

Default Thanks

Great pointers. I usually try to take everything away from midday light but I started this set of photos early in the a.m. but by the time I got to the statue it was late morning. Maybe I'll try a little more post-processing.
