Default Help!!

I was trying to capture the rain while focusing on the plumerias. Is there any other way I could have caught more of the rain?

Sorry, i'm very new to this and I was shooting with a Canon Rebel XTI, 55-250mm lens

Beside it raining a lot heavier, try to have all of the back ground dark and the rain in the light.
Your shutter speed will impact on how the rain drops appar also. At linger shutter speeds they will disappear.

What can't you photograph now, that you want to, with your existing lenses?

Do you want to shoot super closups, wild life in the wild, low light or in tight spaces like building interiors?

Well I like to take pictures of my baby, low-light shots for our night time family gatherings, and landscape shots. Someone mentioned that I should consider getting the 50mm.

Lehua11,

A 50mm would be a good choice. However you also need to consider the "speed" of the lens. You could most likely use a 35mm a 50mm or an 85mm. But more importantly you should look at one of those lens with a f1.4, f1.8 or f2.8. (Not sure what make camera you are capturing with but all the manufacturers have something comparable to the above suggestions)

I have a Canon Rebel XTI. Would the 50mm f/1.8 be good? Would this help with the blur i'm having now when I try to take pictures in low-light?

Using a "fast" lens like a 1.8 and jacking up your ISO are ways to allow you to shoot at a faster shutter speed. You will need a shutter speed of about 1/30 or 1/60 of a second if you are trying to hand hold the camera. A tripod would be better, if possible.

You really should learn the Exposure Triangle so you will know the answers to those questions.

You may find this DPS tute helpful.
It will give you a basic understanding of how to set your camera up for different shooting conditions.
