Default Easter fun fair

I took these shots at our local Easter fun fair with the goal of catching some motion blur (my first attempt).

I'd like to know if the composition is ok or if anything could be improved with regards to focusing, subject matter etc. I'm quite new to all this so find it hard to actually ask for specific items to be critiqued on.

I used 2 ND filters to enable the slow shutter speeds.

You're only supposed to post one image in the critique section, even though I find that rule restricting sometimes in cases like these. I think this is more suited to the Comparison-Critique section. Regardless, I like the 2nd one the best because the dark background gives you the best contrast with the colorful lights. My only suggestion for improvement is to try to avoid cutting off signs (if possible) and minimize any distracting signs/lights. Good job for your 1st attempt, though.

Thanks for your comments, I'll remember the one shot rule for next time.

That second shot funnily enough was my favourite too and I wanted to get further back but couldn't due to another big wheel behind me.

Maybe it's time to invest in a wide angle lens.

Nice shots, I find the first one to be nicely balanced.. Really cool long exposure effects!

Awesome shots. The fair has actually just arrived in my town, and after seeing these pictures the day you posted them, I went out and bought a tripod to try the very same thing. Unfortunately the weather has been terrible lately so the minute we have a dry patch, ill be heading up to get my own set of shots similar to these.

Any advice for a newbie regarding shooting a funfair?
