I was trying to get an interesting view of a large office building reflected off another surface and thought I found a perfect example, but just doesn't have the punch I was planning. Not sure what I'd do differently, perhaps try to get closer so the middle section/building isn't seen?
Shot with a canon 60d, 19 mm f8 1/160 sec and ISO 200. Thanks for the feedback: Twin Cities ![]() Similar issue (although not what I'm looking for specific critique on): Night Reflection Last edited by Nicole; 04-25-2011 at 05:33 AM. Reason: Added photo |

Right now you have a blueish building against a blue sky, so there is no contrast. I would go back and take the shot again at either a different time of day when the sky is not so blue (like during the golden hours) or in different weather conditions where you have clouds to provide some contrast. You might also try a polarizer to see if that helps.

thanks for the feedback, I noticed with the sun I was only able to get a good reflection in early morning, and the buildings just reflect the sky color which I guess is why they turned out so blue. I'll try some editing to change the color and get more contrast, I see your point.

I know you have no control over which way the building faces, but I noticed the foreground is dark also. Too bad, as I think the contrast of the green tree leaves would help.
