Parliament edit

Taken with: Nikon Coolpix L22
Shutter Speed: 10/4000 second
Aperture: F/6.7
Focal Length: 24mm
ISO Speed: 80
Edited with: Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0

This is one of the first pictures I have taken that I think looks really good, even though when I first took it it was just a quick snapshot so I didn't plan any composition or anything and it only really looked good after a quick edit in Photoshop. Can't remember what I did but I think it made it look a lot less like a snapshot and a bit more arty
I would love to get critique from you guys, see what you think and where I can improve

First off, I like the post processing treatment you've done here. It's unusual and really suits the subject. I also like the seagull.

But then I look at the photo and think it's a real shame you didn't get the Parliment buildings in, and a shame that the top of the tower is so close to the top of the frame.. However I think there's a crop within the crop that I really like.. I think it describes London a lot more than the original.

I hope you don't mind, but I had a little edit.. I only adjusted the crop, I think the colours are ok. If you want, I'll take it off line, but I like this edit a lot.

I really like that edit
I agree with what you said, as I say at the time it was a quick snapshot and now that I've seen what it turned into I wish I had thought about it more and planned the photo more!

LoL.. If you'd thought more, the bird would have flown away, this is the photo you took, not me, I just tidied it up a bit. You're the one that gets the pat on the back.

I like the picture a lot especially the one SwissJon cropped. The only problem I have and maybe it is just me but it seems to be leaning to the left just a little bit.

I thought that too.. But I moved the verticals against the edge if the window and they're spot on..

Annika, you might want to go back to the original and run it through noise reduction a bit. Such a close crop has shown the noise up on the sky.

I thought it was leaning a bit as well. Will try the noise reduction, thanks
