Took this on a bike ride the other day, im rather pleased with it but im wondering if its a little too distant? Should i have framed it closer?

Yes.
![]() The brown/green juxtaposition is good, but you either need to consider retaking this so that all you have the hedge going from bottom left corner to the top right, this will create an unusual minimalist landscape photograph where the subject is the juxtaposition of the colours (The trees in the hedge providing some interest and giving the picture some context.) If you do this, I would consider boosting the green colours in the picture post processing. I tried cropping your photo, but the angle of the fence is too steep to make it a good crop. Alternatively you could zoom on the farmhouse and have a nice countryside picture with sheep in the fields. As it stands, everything is too distant and it's neither one nor the other.
