Default Times Square

This is a shot of Time's Square taken last weekend. I would appreciate any feedback or comments for improvements!

I think the shot looks good as is. The post processing may be a little over the top for some but I like it.

I like that you get the movement and hustle and bustle of Times Square in this shot, however the darkness in the upper left hand corner is a bit distracting to me.

You do not seem to have any main point of focus. The yellow cab in the foreground is what my eye falls on first, but has movement blur, so my eye moves on. The other cabs are blured or too far away to be distinct. The nearest billboard is cut off. The next ones are indistinct. The top of the picture is dark and foreboding. I do not know what lens you used, but it looks like a very wide angle. And the processing, well I really do not know what to make of it. Have you converted the picture to B&W and painted some of the colour in. Overall it is too contrasty/black point too high.
I think it would make a far better picture if you had used a longer lens and had used a landscape crop.
You have turned Times Square into a scene from a horror movie, or maybe that was your intention. I hope not.

I actually like this for the most part, including the PP. I think the use of motion blur captures the activity and bustle in the city, and the scene's competing focal points (the cabs, the billboards) are quite evocative of the sensory overload of Times Square.

I don't normally like this type of post-processing, but I think it works here... again, it captures the garrishness of this part of the city nicely. It does look a little dark to me, but I'm suspect the the selective coloring may lose impact if the rest of the image was lightened too much.

Anyway, nicely captured.
