I like the picture but they are not exactly what I was looking at, Do you have any suggestions on how to photograph sunsets like this one or what can be improved?

Thankyou.

I am also looking for followers and people to follow on project 365.

I'll chime in mainly because I have had the same question myself.

If I'm shooting a sunset, I set up a tripod and shoot in shutter speed priority mode, and I change shutter speeds as quickly as possible between shots. To keep it simple, that's the only thing I change. Sometimes the shutter speed will yield you the actual colors you saw, and sometimes it will alter the colors but give you an effect you want.

Obviously shooting out a plane window makes this a bit tougher, but taking plenty of shots in a row with varying shutter speeds might get you the shot you're after. You can always view the EXIF data later and then apply that information at your next opportunity.

Total novice here, but that's one thing I've learned through practice.

Explaining how to take better sunset photos is like explaining how to run your digital camera...there's quite a lot involved and not really possible to explain in a single post. Some basic tips would be to look into using a graduated neutral density filter to control dynamic range and learn proper exposure techniques among many other things. For color, I usually recommend using the "shade" white balance setting as it produces warmer colors.

There are tons of posts on the forum about sunsets/sunrises along with GND usage. I did an article for Singh Ray filters awhile back that talks about GND usage. You can see it here if you wish. While I really do like SR filters, keep in mind that the article is written for SR specifically, but the information is valid and it talks about why filters are important and some technique info.

Otherwise, do you have a more specific question about sunrises/sunsets you would like answered?

What don't you like about the colors in your shot?
