Default Farm

Hi,

I took this snap (within the branches) of a tree to capture farm workers returing from their work to get a completely rustic look. Tell me about my objective of the snap and also the composition...

that's a framed shot and it's good, with clear and vibrant colors. i would have preferred though for those workers to be a bit bigger. likewise, i find those twigs distracting. the horizon is a quite washed out. maybe you can do something about it using PS. otherwise, i like the picture as it tells a story.

I'd like to see less of the branches and twigs framing the shot and a closer view of the workers. Your horizon should be level also. I'm sorry, but I don't get a rustic or retro feel from this shot - there's no visual clue to me that this from an older era. There is too much dynamic range in this shot for your camera sensor to handle, so the sky is blown out. You can try graduated neutral density filters or shoot in the golden hours to deal with that.

Generally it's better to have a subject enter the frame, not exit it.. These people look like they're walking into the tree. If you had moved slightly to the right, zoomed in to increase their size, and set the focal point so that the branches are out of focus, the picture would have looked better.
