Default My Version of the Supermoon

Its been awhile since I've had a chance to pick up my camera much but could not resist last night's Supermoon. After taking your standard moon shoots, which I learned wasn't quite as easy as it looked to be. But I did get it dialed in and had some fun.

Anyways I did play a little and wonder what you all think about the composition of this shot. Is it interesting? Does it have drama? Or is it just another snapshot?

Thanks in advance

Strong light through branches can be dramatic but I think you could do with cropping in closer (and perhaps experimenting with a non-centred composition). Looking closer, the image is also rather soft; you can probably improve it with some post-processing. Were you using a tripod to support your camera? If not, consider it when using a slow shutter speed.

Here is my take on a similar idea (less dark space and a non-centered composition):

Shelob's Lair

Thanks Wulf

I did use a tripod but it was quite windy that evening. I think it's time for an upgrade. I did play with the crop and like it better

I think that works better with that crop, not least because you can now see more of the trees. Often less (in the field of view) is more (interest).

Cropped version looks better. I wouldn't have guessed a moon in the original pic. Looked almost like a submerged object being photographed upwards through ice or something. The cropped version is more clear in what it actually is.
