Default Four Corner School II

When I first got to this location, the sun was sinking fast, and so I didn't have much of a chance to get around and critically look at all of my compositional options. I pretty much had just enough time to plant the tripod, take a quick glance at my settings, focus, and fire away. Having said that, can you think of any good compositional ideas for this place? I know already that there's too much sky and I haven't used the fence in front to help out the situation. I'll be returning later in the spring when we have good skies on a more consistent basis. Any other thoughts/suggestions you have are also welcome. Thanks in advance for taking a look at it.

I agree there is way too much sky and the horizon looks a little high on the left. Looking closely at the building the sides seem to be pinching in at the top just a little but that can be corrected in LR3 w/lens correction, vertical. Other than I like it. I really like the sun shining through the building. I am sure others will see things that I missed but that is okay because I am still learning.

Again, nice shot.

I agree with Dave that the photo seems to be leaning to the left. The broken piece of fence or gate seems to be getting in the way slightly. I think if you moved forward and beyond that and got closer to the house you would eliminate the excess sky and the remove the fence. Maybe then just get down low to change the angle of attack. What post processing did you do on the pic?

Wow, I like what you have here. A great location with a lot of potential.

Beside all the previous comments I would play with the building, possible shotting from close to the building starting low so that the building even though old shows power. (make sense?)

No expert but I think you have a winner with a few changes.

Wow
Fantastic picture EOBeav, i love the colours that are showing up on the dwelling, and the sun burst coming throught the vacant window frames, again i agree with whats been said above, but they are minor changes really. Great Picture for the short window of time you had to shoot in.
