Default Bridge at night

Ok, well I've been going crazy recently, weather has been really boring, and I've been stuck inside.

Last night I stopped on the way home, and took some photos. This time I mainly ised my film camera, so didn't snap so many on my digital. However I ran out of film before I spotted the potential of this bridge, so back to the digital.

Ok, Here's what I'm a bit stuck with.. The cable going down toward the bottom left is fringed with something, I had brightened the midtoned to enhance the reflection, but the fringing got worse.. I've no idea what it is, I initially thought it was chromattic abberation, but it doesn't seem to be. Anyone got any ideas, I've got a perfect reflection of the underneath of the bridge hiding there and I really want to boost this.

Does the concrete lead in on the right enhance the picture or is there a bit much?
Should I flip the picture so it leads in from the right?
Have I cropped too close at the bottom? (I cropped out some shadow bottom right)
Should I go black and white?
Do you find this photo boring? I'm used to taking sunsets and so on, so it's a bit of a break from my norm.. It's pure architecture and I'm not sure if it's a bit dull.

Any other comments or things I've missed?

I'm assuming this is all lit by a street light of some kind?

I do have to say this isn't one of your stronger photos. Maybe I get stuck in the rut of "the sky is everything", but I miss at least seeing some clouds here. I prefer nighttime bridge shots to have lights coming from the bridge itself, instead of just being lit by something else.

But hey, at least you've gotten your camera out in the last few days. That's a lot more than I can say for myself. :-) Spring's coming, though.

My eye wants to follow the arc of the bridge, but my attention keeps getting hijacked by those support beams and cables. Like EOBeav may have been alluding to, I don't think it is helping that the bridge seems to disappear into a black void.

I don't know if flipping it will improve it. I don't believe this is a B&W candidate because there are no mid-tones. Unfortunately, I don't think this is one of your more compelling subjects.

Were you going for something more like this? long exposure with flashlight
