Default Rotten Apple

Cycle Of Urbanic Life

Camera Canon PowerShot S3 IS
Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture f/3.5
Focal Length 6 mm

I took this shot at a parking lot,
i saw that rotten apple aside the blooming grass and in the background of it there is that cold asphalt.
i tried to deliver a feeling of some kind of "urbanic cyrcle of life",
what do you think?
any suggestions of improvment?

Technically it's a good photo..

But it doesn't speak to me.

I'm guessing in a series, perhaps strating with apple blossom and ending with maggots all over this, or something like that, this would be an interesting photo.. Or in a series showing rotton fruit on the ground.. But on its own it's just a rotton apple.

If I hadn't read your description, I would have thought you were trying to show the contrast of the green growing grass against the decaying apple. I don't really get the "cycle" impression from this.

I can't think of another way to show the "urbanic cycle of life" off the top of my head. That sounds like a tough assignment. Maybe show something like a garbage truck next to a growing plant?

As a side note - the colors look a little flat. A levels adjustment may fix that.
