Smile Sun by brim of the Bell

I shot this over this week ends, the place is on hilltop and needs a bit of trekking to reach there. The sun wasn't so clear because of mist and by the time it was visible.. it wasn't shoot-able. I was returning home and saw this bell.

DSC_2707

EXIF

Model : NIKON D3000
ExposureTime : 1/200Sec
FNumber : F40.0
ExposureProgram : Manual
ISOSpeedRatings : 400
MaxApertureValue : F4.8
SubjectDistance : 7.50(m)
MeteringMode : Division
Flash : Not fired
FocalLength : 200.00(mm)

Please let me know if this could have been better if the crossover between the Bell and tree was lesser. I am sure ISO as 400 wasn't desired but as I was shooting a bird before that.. I didn't noticed that and did not change that.
If I would have exposed the bell more would this be any better. How does the sun appears from the place where the bell is hung.

Your suggestion will help me improve.

Hi,

I like the idea of this composition, but I think it's a bit of a shame that the tree interferes with the bell.. If you could have got this so that the bell was cimpletely isolated, with the tree appearing in the frame, just not touching the bell, it would have been much stronger.

I like where the sun appears.

Althogether a nice photo though.

It's a beautiful golden color. As stated above, it's too bad that the tree and the bell interfere with each other. It might work if there were some different shades in the silhouette in order to give them some layers, but I'm not sure that's possible with them in such close proximity.

SwissJon , EOBeav

Thanks a lot for the review. And thanks for liking the shot.

If I would have seggregated the bell with tree.. sun would have some in mid of it. As the sun was pretty high wouldnt it have burned down the shot. Or there is some way I could have avoided that. I wanted to ask this to someone since long... if foreground is illuminated like the one here.. and I want an aillumnated foreground. Will underexposing the image and use of inbuilt flash help.
