Default Finding my own Angle

I was trying to "find my own angle" with this shot below. After reading an article on the Digital Photography School website (recommended by my friend Nikki) about Landscape Photography, I was inspired to try something new, a low angle shot!

I really couldn't decide between these 3 photos, but I favoured the larger shot and posted it to Flickr. The Flickr photo is Here. The other two shots, I didn't upload to Flickr but put them in the comments so people could tell me which one they preferred.
Do you find anything distracting in any of the shots? Do you not like any of them? Tell me!
The one I posted on Flickr because I thought it was the one I favoured:

It's a nice shot, but it almost seems as though something is missing. My eyes look over the high grass and expect to see a strong subject just beyond.

Do all of those trees to the left of the frame really lean in that much, or are you getting a little distortion from the wide end of your lens?

Thanks for the comment. Yes a stronger focal point would be an improvement!
Um a mixture of distortion and the trees were leaning a bit too..

You might have to buy a horse and put it out in front of the lens. lol

If you have a friend handy, you could have them sitting in the meadow gazing off into the distance. Even a colorful blanket, empty wine bottle, etc. could start to tell a story and create some visual curiosity. Keep working with it and let your imagination run wild.

Mushos Grassy Ass..

Ok, I think you probably got the settings pretty much spot on, that gives you a huge depth of field, which just about works.

I'm not so keen on the foreground grass.. It's a bit distracting. If there was a continuum from the foreground to the back, the picture would probably worked better. Otherwise I think the perspective would probably have worked better by lifting the camera just above the level of the grass.

Oh, and like some kind fella mentioned.. This picture is missing something.. Ahh I know.. A horse, a horse, of course, of course.. You need to go and find the famous Mr Ed!

Hats off for trying a new technique though

Thanks for the awesome feedback.

My tripod is a cheap plastic one so It can;t get low to the ground. It was too high to get the grass and the trees in so I took it off the tripod and balanced it on a little rock (which was probably too low as you mentioned).
I want to get a new tripod soon, preferably Manfrotto so I have that low angle setting on the tripod.

Thanks guys!

I've just bought a Manfrotto tripod from som chap in South Korea on fleabay. Not sureif it's going to turn out to be a good purchase, but it was half the price of the same kit locally so I figured I'll gamble. I'll let you know how it works out
