Default Morning Pictures

I love taking pictures in the morning with the sun still low but I'm new to it and would love some advice on how to do it better! I took this one morning beside my house with a Kodak Easyshare CD82 on normal setting. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Get there a little earlier, so that the bright sun does not completely blow out the center of the frame. Also, if you are going to use the stump as a foreground element for your composition, drop down a little lower and make it a part of the picture. Also, shift it to the left so that it lines up with the 3rd's line in your viewfinder. Right now it doesn't look like a purposeful element of the composition and that makes it more of a distraction. I might even sit something on top of that stump to add a little interest to the shot.

Not being familiar with your camera, it is hard to make recommendations as to settings. Chances are that you do have a landscape setting and that should add a little to the end result by boosting saturation and maybe toning down the hot spot. If you can set aperture, then close that way down so that you will get more defined light rays splitting across the tree's branches.

Beautiful scenery......

Yeah, I wasn't really sure how to use the stump but I knew I liked and it wanted it in there somehow. I'll try that tomorrow morning and go a little earlier. Thank you!

If you have a friendly rooster hanging around, get it to pose on that stump! lol

Put an old kerosene lantern on top of the stump and see if you can catch some of the sun's rays coming through the glass. Or stick an ax in the top of the stump with the handle angled toward the center of the frame and leading the eye toward that ridge beyond the fence.

Great and convenient location for you to use while sharpening your technical skills. Keep shootin'!
