Default Venturing into a new area...

I have mostly focused on people shots since i got my dslr about 9 months ago, but i would like to branch out. this is a shot of the sun and trees reflecting in a puddle. i'm mainly curious what you think about composition. any and all advice is appreciated. thanks!

This is not the type of shot I would typically take myself, but I think this is a cool abstract shot. The only thing about this image that I do not like is the out-of-focus whitish thing in the lower left corner and that stretches across the top quarter of the shot (mainly the lower left corner part, though). Overall, it's a cool and interesting shot.

LoL.. I think those are dry patches..

I like this too.. Reflections are cool.. But you still need to construct your photos in the same way as you would if you were shooting the subject directly.. Subject at a 1/3 intersection, direction and story.. The subject is not particularly clear, is it the tree, sun, clouds or the puddle itself?

thanks for your comment, Krusty- these are reflections in a puddle, and the puddle was irregularly shaped- so the out of focus whitish things are the pavement that wasn't submerged.

thanks for your comments, Jon- i did wonder about that, too- but i placed the sun where i did b/c it was my subject. hmmm.
