Welcome to the forums. I do like the juxtaposition of the yellow bus with the red fire hydrant, but all of that brush is too much! It's distracting and keeps me from seeing the hydrant and bus.

How is a fireman supposed to attach a hose to that hydrant with all the vegetation? Doesn't the city/county maintain that?

Great idea to juxtapose the red hydrant with the yellow school bus. As Krusty79 said, the brush distracts from the image. A couple other comments, the vignette is a little much for my taste. Was that added in post-processing or did you have a filter attached the vignetted the image? On my monitor, the sky looks a tad on the green side -- might want to check what white balance setting you are using.

Again, nice juxtaposition of the bus and fire hydrant. Great idea. Happy shooting.

Thank you both for the comments. Unfortunately there was nothing i could do about the brush. Ideally i would have like a little bit in the picture. As far as the Vintage and color it was done in post processing with Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I used the Lomo Camera Effect.

Hi.. As everyone else said, welcome..

And everything else they said too!

Since I first came on here oooh so long ago (a couple of months now ) I've learned a lot, but I think the most valuable thing I learned was, when you're working with things like vingettes and so on, use them subtly. The idea with a post processing (PP) vignette is to draw the eye to the subject. Your two subjects are not really positioned right for a vignette of that degree.. I think I'd have been tempted to omit it entirely.

As for the colours, I think again, I'd be tempted to leave the colours tru and concentrate on the levels and composition.

You've got a good eye, keep at it, but in future carry a machette with you
