I would prefer it if you took the shot while you were ON the road, so I can see the road leading off into the distance. It always helps if you can take the shot around dawn or dusk for some softer light, as the midday light is pretty harsh.

Well, without rigging a stable mount for the camera and a remote, a while riding shot would be difficult but cool if you could have some motion blur of road and front wheel etc. But then, bike vibration could be an issue. Barring that, I think it could be improve just by parking the bike on the right side of the road to include more of the road and maybe move to the top of the knoll to capture some the road to infinity effect or even see it gently curving thru the landscape if that is what it did.

BTW, check out RAM mounts for cool accessory mounting options, camera, gps, video, etc...

Nice shot! I keep expecting the credits for a movie to start rolling in the upper left corner.

I like the shot, but the attention is drawn to the horizon/sky because it is the brightest area but it is out of focus. The bike it'self is a bit too dark to draw attention and it's lacking in detail (viewed on unclaibrated work computer)

Tried a moving shot on my bike last summer.. The vibration makes the shot too blurred for the picture to be any good.

I agree the picture would have been better with more of the road.. And I think perhaps a little less of the engine guard. I think I'd like to have seen this picture a little higher, so you get some of the headlamp and the petrol tank. Maybe a little bit of handle bar framing the shot?

Also, I think perhaps a Polorising filter might have improved the sky.

I don't know if my comment was being misinterpreted, but I meant stopping your bike on the road and taking the shot, not taking the shot while in motion. It looks like that road is deserted enough for that. If you could compose it so the road is leading into the sunset/sunrise, that would be ever better.

Cool idea, I agree with Krusty about seeing a bigger stretch of road, like we're riding down the road with you instead of just parked by it.

If it is safe enough if the road is deserted enough, then staging a photo with the bike on the road could work. How *I* would stage it would be to try and have the bike not on the stand, upright and the front wheel pointed in the direction of travel. Some more bike in the shot like others have said and maybe even try a shot with a leg on up in cruising position.

As for vibration, Im sure any v-twin would vibrate too much for a in motion shot, especially how a Harley fires, unless you killed motor and coasted while the shot was fired. My last street bike was a 2-stroke twin and it was sewing machine smooth. That should also tell you how long it has been since I have had a street bike. LOL
