Default Sunset at the harbour

I like this photo.. Took it this evening.. But I'm not sure how I've done with the crop.. And is it too dark? What about the composition with the nearer boats? Too jumbled? Any other comments are welcome too.

Just my two cents. This may be one way I would 'crop/recompose' it (a sense of balance):

Thanks Krusty.. Fixed that.. I was trying to help someone last night and managed to completely delete my Flickr Stream.. Damn Lightroom doesn't come with any warnings!

In what way LoveDSLR?

i really like this shot, the only 2 things i would change is the main boat, i don't know if it's just my screen, but it's too dark. but then again, maybe it's supposed to be like that. and there is a backwards "C" on the mast. maybe could be taken out in photoshop. other than that, it's great.

Thanks.. The "Backwards C" is 4m tall and is on the harbour wall, not the boat, to tell the boats which way the wind is blowing.. But I agree with you, it's a distraction, I'll remove it.

I think I need to calibrate my monitor, I seem to be making pictures too dark because the look ok on my screen.

Adjusted image without the C below.. I didn't realise that I wouldn't be able to adjust the levels in LR after I closed PS, so in order to bring the brightness of the boat back up, I'd have to redo the cloning, which took me a while to do in the first place, so I'm not to fussed about doing that. And really, I'm into sillouettes at the moment, so I don't mind.

What do you think now?

Default Nice editing removing the "C"

Very impressive. Taking the C out really clean up the composition. Beautiful sky.
