Default Tree in the City

Today there was a lovely sunset but I only had my point and shoot with me, however I managed to produce the image below with it.

There's not a lot I could do about sharpness, I was shooting without a tripod with a little hand held, but if you could gelp me with composition and levels I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure if I should crop out the ground, or maybe clone out the buildings at the bottom, and whether I should fiddle with the contrast to see if I can get the building on the right a bit more sillouetted.

Be cruel.. I deserve it! :P

EXIF:
Make Panasonic DMC-TZ10
ISO 80
Flash Did not fire
1/100 at f/4.5
Focal Length 25.9mm (130mm Equivalent)
Post processing: Cropped and adjusted black levels, contrast and saturation slightly in Lightroom

Nothing to be cruel about here. I like it as it is, I can't think of anything I would change. Nice job!!

Oh, OK.. Well that's kind, thanks.. Two photos up, two critiques saying the same thing.. Maybe I should start posting in SYS.. Maybe I should start posting my less successful ones in this thread.

Most of my shots go in the garbage bin. If I like something, but I'd like another opinion on it, I post it here. My garbage shots never see the light of day. :-)

I'm finding this site a great help to improving my photography.. But I don't see the point in posting only great shots.. If you want to see the photos I like, then look on Flickr. I'll post some of my less successful shots here as time goes by.. But not those ones where I know what went wrong.. Camera shake, Soft focus, obvious poor composition etc. But I think that sometimes comments on technique and composition can be helpful where there's something missing but I can't put my finger on it.

I'm self taught and have only owned a DSLR for 12 months now, so the feedback I get here I take on board.. I'd love to believe my photos are great, but I don't think they are, so it's something of a nice surprise when I get comments like the ones above

As someone who is just a beginner, Just sharing my thoughts.
First thing - the sky is very dramatic. Against the background, the tree is looking good. But I feel that the tree has taken too much space in the frame. so, the picture is not provoking viewers mind. Again, its only a beginners thoughts.

Request members to reply with their views on my thoughts....

Being a beginner doesn't make your opinions invalid.. If I thought this photo was perfect I wouldn't have posted in this section, you're most welcome to offer your opinion.

I'm not sure I understand your comment though. I took this photo of the tree, rather than the sky.. The sky made a dramatic backdrop to show the tree I thought.

However, having said that, I couldn't have taken this photo any other way.. In the situation, the tree was surrounded by some rather ugly buildings. I know what you mean about the tree being dominant, but that was kinda the point.. What I'd really like to have done is get some people in the foreground, this would have given the scene a bit of life and drawn your eye from the tree. Unfortunately I didn't have time to wait as I was on my way to the train, I might go back and do that with my other camera and my superwide lens, but there are far more beautiful things around here, I just felt kinda sorry for this poor forgotten bit of nature lost and lonely in the urban jungle, photographing it kinda gives it a sense of purpose in my mind.
