Hi:

Well, you did ask. No offense intended.

To me the whole photo is grey. No idea what the focus point is? The foreground branches don’t leave much room if the background is supposed to be the FP.

I would try adjusting for a lighter foreground and darker background or vice versa as well as blur the area that is not the FP to see if that improves the situation.

I kind of agree about the focal point. The branches (although too constrictive) seem to frame something...but that something is , well, nothing.

Hello,

Please, when submitting a photo for critique you should provide the EXIF info as well, so that others can better help you.

The way you composed the photo, together with a large depth of field make it lack a point of interest: there's just too much detail, too many things to look at. Do you want the viewer to pay attention to the branches? To the sky? To the colourful trees at the background?

Greetings

Thank you so much for the feedback! It's exactly what I need... The branches in the picture were suppose to be my FP. Now I have a better understanding... Again, thanks for helping me grow.

The way you composed the photo made it look like as if you'd use the branches as frame; this is also because you used a large DOF; try with a shallower one (this is, larger aperture) to make the background blurry and make the viewer's attention go direct to the branches...

Greetings

That could have been a beautiful picture. I think you could have gotten down lower, pick up some of the lower branches in front instead of just getting the upper branchs. The horizon is just a little off but otherwise I think it is very nice.

What I might have done with this photo is crop it to portrait and immediately you get rid of the most uninteristing parts of the tree/branches.

Then I would have allowed the branches to frame the sky (the others have already said correctly that there unfortunately is no focal point out there, but lets do what we can here), and then in post processing worked the sky so that it is much more vibrant (drop exposure, play with contrast, get the clouds to light up and come alive and become a sort of FP.

Welcome!
