First January Sunrise Morayshire UK

Hello all,

This was taken this morning during the first sunrise of the year which was worth getting the camera out for. This was just before the sun had fully risen. The clouds were looking pretty amazing.

Details are:

Camera: Nikon D5000
Lens: 55-300mm
Focal Length: 62mm
ISO: 200
Aperture: f/11
Exposure: 1/200 sec

Camera Profile: Camera Vivid

Post processing done on Lightroom 3 - little bit of sharpening and colour saturation adjustment.

I have had my little D5000 for around 6 months now, and have spent this time getting used to the camera. I am now trying to push my photography forward, and I would like to be happier with the results when I get home hence the reason for my post.

I would your advice on what I could have done to make this photograph better?
