Default Sleepy Hallow Farm

I took this last fall and can't wait to go back!! What do ya think? I wish the lighting was better as it appears a bit flat to me, but what when your traveling it is what it is. The tree on the left I just can't decide about.

Thanks for your thoughts,
Jay

I like the shot, leave the tree, I think the foreground frames the shot nicely. The road leads you in and I find myself walking the feilds looking at the crops.

If you have PS you can add a Soft Light layer that would make this pop.

Nice work

Lovely work, its such a beautiful scene. I would agree with a Soft Light layer, or something similar - it would really strengthen the image. The tree is a good frame and draws the eye down the path to the farmhouse.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everybody

By a soft light layer, do you mean a curve adjustment layer set to softlight? maybe a 50% gray layer set to softlight with some dodging and burning?

Thanks,
Jay

I agree the tree helps frame the shot. And the road leads you into the image. I also agree the image looks flat, but I am not sophisticated in PP, so I can't explain the soft light layer technique. I'm sure you can find out more if you Google it.

It sounds like you have some knowledge of PS so I'll try to walk you through this. Make a copy of your Background layer. I right click on it and use create duplicate, a box will pop up to name the new layer, I name the new layer Soft Light and click OK. With the new layer highlighted click on the box above it labeled Normal. Scroll down and click on Soft Light. Next you will need to determine the Opacity level. You will find this just to the right of the box you choose Soft Light. I usually am between 85% and 25% Opacity.

Hope this helps
