and overall composition. If you were to tweak this, what would you do?

Hi Dawn!

Ahh...winter in Wisconsin. I'm over here just across the river in Minnesota but I get to Oshkosh occasionally...usually for some little airshow they hold over there. You've probably never heard of it though.

I think your white balance and contrast are wonderful. The black water is a great contrast to the white snow. The composition isn't overly compelling but it's not bad either. The winding river does draw you in.

Small world - I grew up in Oshkosh. Dawn, I took a look at your blog, and saw Manitowoc right at the top -- my Mom's from there!

Anyway, I think the photo is just about right. I've been meaning to try some post-processing HDR on a photo like this -- you really can't get away with shooting separate photos because of the moving water, but I'd like to see if there's any more dynamic range that could be pulled out. Maybe even trying to boost the shadows a bit to see more detail in the tree trunks, etc.
