Default Crown Point level or not level

I keep looking at this photo thinking something is wrong but not being able to put my finger on it. Then I said to myself it's not level. What do you think is the shot off tilt a little or is it something else?

You captured a great shot of Crowne point with beacon rock in the distance. Looks like winter in the beautiful Columbia river gorge area. My back yard, I have to wonder what a little viberance would look like. The front pines look really good though so it may blow them out1

Yup, to me it feels tilted a tiny bit to the right, and that's probably because the only discernible straight horizontal line is the one of the building on the bluff on the right: the rail/top of the wall is slightly slanted. You may actually be level, though, it's just that we can't see a straight horizon line, so the top of the wall sort of substitutes for one.

That's my guess.

I like the fact that you haven't blown the greens at all. It's a pet hate if the greens are GREEEENNN!!!!

It's a lovely subject with great depth and immediate interest.

It doesn't seem straight, as you said, and I can see where the challenge comes from.

Under normal circumstances, I would use the building, not the wall to level this. Why? because chances are the building was made to be flat, as with most buildings. the wall should be a certain height the majority of the time and if the hill slopes down, the wall probably does to, other wise bricks wouldn't quite be flush (not that i'm a builder, so i may be wrong!)

However, in this shot it doesn't work. the wall should be used because the land to the top left looks flat when you do so. When levelled by the building, it looks...odd!

Having said this, the middle outcrop doesn't look quite right because it is the only part that slopes away from you.

In short, you will find it hard to level the whole picture, merely elements of it. you should choose which are the most important to you/the shot and go with that.

On a side note, there seems to be a lot of noise. Have you tried reducing that using Lightoom or similar?

It's tilted. Buildings are ALWAYS built vertical (at least initially). The side of a building is pretty much the only thing you can (almost) always count on being "straight".
I also think it could use a "levels/curves adjustment"

Thank you for your compliment. I am always watchful appling viberance I don't like blowing out the colors.

I share yuor passion on blown greens.

This has been my struggle, deciding which element of it looks best to me leveled.

I want some noise in the shot because it was a very overcast day with light rain and I think the noise helps portray this but I may have a little to much.

Thank you for your compliments

I agree buildings should always be straight and I just can't seem to get there. I like the levels/curves adjustment I will have to play with that.

Thank you

I found a point of level I like, removed some noise, and threw in a curves adjustment. Thought I would share the final results. Thank you
