Default Sunrise with lake view with tree shadow

Hi,

I tried to captured sunrise with tree shadow at early morning and would really appreciate your freedback.

Camera : Nikon D5000
Exposure : 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture : f/13.0
ISO Speed : 200

Nice color and exposure. Two things that come to mind are the out of focus foliage in the lower left and the framing of the sun. You'd want to crop that stuff out of the foreground, it's doesn't do anything for the composition, it only distracts.

Also, the image is very Right side balanced. There's not enough on the left to balance the shot. Adding an element over there or even recomposing so that the sun is on that side of the frame might help balance it against the powerful element of the tree trunk.

Thank you danbaileyphoto, I really appreciate your suggestion and do agree about foliage in the lower left part of the photograph.

Regarding to second suggestion, i am not sure how i can work on that as the place and tree position forced me to capture this shot in right balanced position. Will think on your suggestion and will recompose the same to see the result.

You're welcome. And actually, now that I've looked at it a few times, I do like the framing. I think if you just lose that stuff in the lower left, that open stretch of water will work well to help balance the image.

As mentioned by Dan, the foliage in the lower left corner was the only thing that bothered me. Otherwise, it's a good shot.
