Default The Pecan Grove

A stand of pecan (that's pee-can, NOT pe-CAHN) trees outside my office across the street.
Its one of my favorites from last january. What do you think? Composition/color? Overall impressions?

Interesting shot.

Considering the lighting conditions, I think this might have some potential.

First thing I did, was move the left side of your picture off the left side of my screen, to simulate a crop. Crop until the left half of the first tree is gone. I found this helped draw my eye into the picture more.

The excess tree on the far left, and the difference of the branch structure of left side of the first tree, ruins the symmetry for me. Remove it, and I think you have a nice line pulling you into the photo.

This also helps get rid of the bright sun spot, which pulls my eye away from everything, and then causes me to squint.

Second, because of the contrast in lighting, I would be interested in seeing this turned into black and white...while the blue of the sky is spectacular... I have to wonder if the contrast between the blue and the dark foreground, is causing an uneasiness.

I do find this an interesting shot, and think it does have some potential...

Just my 2c's
