Took this photo on a walk in the Mourne Mountains recently. Tried to capture to the coldness but might have overdone the flowing water. Any suggestions.

Hi Toss, welcome to DPS, in order to do a critic it is important to provide EXIF data and follow the instructions for this section
Thanks Art

Hi Art,
Is there somewhere to include the Exif information or do you just include it in the body of the message?

Yes, you can put the exif data in the body of the post. I think you have captured the coldness, but you have a lot of blown-out white highlights.

Thanks. I took the picture with an Olympus E410 with the camera on a tripod. Used an exposure of 10 secs. on manual as I wanted to make sure the snow was white and wanted to blur the water. Perhaps I should have taken more shots with different exposure times.
Thanks.

Nice effort. You were definitely thinking here by using the tripod, which nicely blurred the water. Unfortunately, that long exposure is what totally blew out the highlights.

If you want to use a long shutter and capture that motion, one thing you can try next time would be to use a neutral density filter on the lens. That would let less light in and allow for longer exposure times without causing you to lose as many highlights. Also, make sure you're shooting the slowest ISO possible.

Thanks for your tip Dan. The ISO was 100 so will have to get filter as you suggest.
