Default Under The Bridge - B&W

I am looking for some opinions on this one.

Does it work, or is it just "no big deal" ?

Would you have framed it differently?

Rocky Point Bridge - B&W

Camera Nikon D90
Aperture f/5.0
Focal Length 12 mm
ISO Speed 200

I love it!

Was it made from several exposures? What's you exposure time? Just because of the drama in the shot it looks to me as though if the shot was blended from several shots.

Thanks for the info!

I really like this shot. The b&w hdr look works really well.

Nice idea.

However, not enough of a range. Seems a bit grey on my monitor. I would probably crop out the field at the left and focus on the bridge itself with the framed shrubs/trees on the right.

Thanks for the comment.

I started with a HDR, then moved to GIMP and did some layer work.

Because it was three images, I dont have an exposure time. I used AEB for this one.

Thanks Photologyst. I just started working on converting images to B&W, and would appreciate any advice..I used GIMP and desaturated the image when I was finished with the layers...

I like your idea on the crop...I will play with that and see what I can come up with....

Thanks for the critique.

I like the shot.

For me the crop discussed above works. Also the original crop would work but you need more contrast. I think the picture is lacking blacks.

I would apply a graduated filter to the foreground darkening the rocks, and boost the blacks a bit to add contrast on the bridge.

The blown out sky to the right distracts my eyes from the detail of the bridge.

But I'm no expert.

Only my tuppence worth.

I decided to play with this a bit, adjusted, cropped and ran it through Topaz:

This is one of those shots where a square crop works really well.

I liked the original and Photologysts version, so I combined them:

BTW, when I copied the original it pasted in with a color space of "dot gain"...might be part of the reason for the "washed out" color on screen...
