Default After sunset on a barren hill

Goa Gong, Jimbaran hills

Hello, I need your opinion regarding this picture processing. This is not HDR picture, 4s exposure, iso 100, f/8, canon eos 50d with 10-22mm @ 12mm + Hi Tech Reverse GND filter 0.9. Raw processed with capture one after revealed shadow & color saturation. I like this kind of processing but I am not sure that maybe I have overdone?

Thank you.

It might be a tad bit oversaturated but that depends on both your intent and your own preference. I personally like landscapes that are a little more on the saturated side but it's a fine line between really colorful and unrealistic too. Yours is not totally unrealistic but it can't afford much more saturation before it crosses the line IMO.

Pretty sky though and very nice use of a reverse ND grad!

Thank you, that is very true opinion. I myself like surrealism and psychedelic art, I think I have to brush up my perspective in order maintain both of real & unrealistic to be more well balanced.

I certainly get the "surreal" factor that you mention. It is on the border of oversaturation, but I can dig it. I think if you toned that down, it would lose its most interesting feature.

Good picture.

I agree with the over-saturation but I think it still looks believable I wish their was less emphasis on the green and more on the beautiful colors in the sky maybe you could play around with layers to bring up the saturation in the sky and not on the green foreground just my opinion.

I like the colors, but would like to see more of the sky. Maybe a different viewpoint to show the hill in the lower part of the image, maybe taking it with the camera close to the ground. IMHO with the wide angle you are shooting with, more of the clouds would have given a nice dramatic perspective.

The saturation doesn't bother me nearly as much as the halo over the horizon.
