Default Creating mood

Exposure 0.04 sec (1/25)
Aperture f/5.0
ISO Speed 400

How well does this image create mood?

DSC_00462

The more important question after looking at it for a few seconds: can you notice that I used a gradient tool to make the edges darker? It irks me when I notice it, but is it obvious unless you're studying the image? I tried using a rectangle tool, but the boundaries between light and dark were more obvious that way.

This does create a mood, or more like a memory really for me.
It makes you feel as if you're hiding, and being back there in the dark can make you feel safe and secluded fronm the outside world.

Thanks. I never really thought about it like that. I realyl wanted to explore that area when I came across it but a "no trespassing" sign prevented me :/

One day, young padawan, such things will no longer be a hindrance.

It does create mood, the closer architecture breaking up the lit area and the reflections on the other side make it seem longer than it actually is, which is nice. It makes the are feel like it's fading away.

I don't really see what the point of the vast amounts of black area are. Half the image is completely black. If all of that black was just progressively dim as it moved out from the center I feel that would have made the image a little more balanced.

I use darkening tools as well in post-production, but I use that to draw eyes away from the corners and into what I feel the focus of the image is.

Do you have a pre-op version?

My question is what kind of mood are you going for?

For me it reminds me of moments where I push myself too hard exercising and I start to black out. Not a really happy mood. Hehe it doesn't happen often don't worry . For me, the lit background doesn't draw too much interest, however it seems to have been interesting to you, since you did capture it. I guess you were trying to draw out the mood of being curious? I feel if the lit area were more centered it would have that feeling of drawing one towards the light.
