Hi All,
I travel this road quite often to visit my son, and there are so many opportunities for land and seascapes. Incredibly beautiful area. Still quite new at Landscapes. I would like to hear comments on all aspects of the shot but particularly on the composition and colouring. Did some basic PP using auto fix plus some saturation in PSE8. f/l - 18mm F/number - f/10 Exposure - 1/250 ISO - 110 Metering - Matrix D3000, 18 - 55mm F3.5 - 5.6
TIA

Nice shot; it's nicely composed.
I think that it might be just slightly over-saturated, and the white sandy beach seems to be just a little blown out. I'm not sure if it's just my blurry, late-night contact lenses, but the cliffs in the background seem to be slightly out of focus. A little bit smaller aperture would help here (or me switching to my glasses). Overall, very nice shot. andrew

Welcome to DPS. I think you have a very nice scene there, but it lacks that focal point or subject that draws your eye. I believe that is needed to go from a good shot to a great one. We frequently get submissions like that on this site, so I started this thread:
Is a compelling subject required?

Much appreciated.

It's a nice comp. That's fantastic that you get to see this place quite often. Since great landscape photography depends so much on things we can't control (light, weather, etc...) you have a really good chance of catching it just at the right time. I would suggest trying to get here just at sunrise or sunset, and use your tripod to see how it looks in those lighting conditions.

Thank you for your comments, I will be around here on leave during December (Midsummer) and will definitely be doing as you have suggested.
