Hello all,
This is the shot that i took recently when i went out along with my two friends for freak out ..it was very sunny day and little bit hot...so we were having beers sitting on that edge keeping our feet inside the water...we left our luggage near the tree which is on to the left side of the frame (actually tree is not visible only it's branches are visible )...once i came back to the luggage to get my mobile to check the time and when i was going back to that place again , i noticed this view and really liked it ...so i just captured immediately...the two who are in this snap are my friends and they don't know that i took this shot and till now i have not shown to them also ...i really want to give a surprise to them by showing a stunning snap out off it ..So i really need your suggestions on improving it's look, color, composure and contrast.it was not cropped at all and only converted to black & white.. Very nice shot, the B&W conversion looks good, I really like the contrast between their two shirts.

In the do-it-different-next-time dept., I think you could have zoomed in closer and stepped back further to utilize the overhanging tree branches and pier a little more effective frame.
As it is, I'm wondering if the two are getting lost in the scene; they seem to be too small for the image. That said, this is a cool idea, and i think you should get some prints made up as a memento.

@Ngaihill: Thank you very much for your comment..
@EOBeav: I agree with you..but you understand where exactly i was standing by looking at the below picture ... [IMG]
i had to make sure not to include the other couple in the frame and as well as i had to frame my friends alone with as much as the branches ...that's why i moved little left from the position where i took this shot, and then took the first shot that i shared in this thread...if that couple were not there , i think i could have some more possibilities .. Any ways.... thank you for your feed back.. |

I love the composition and the high contrast appearance of the frame. Definitely a keeper!

I like the shot but the Rule of Thirds seem to be begging to be used here. Try placing the lower right intersecting lines smack in the middle of the two. I liked the 8x10 cropping better when I played with it. You lose a little of the foreground but it brings your main subject(s) more into play.
Good work! Rule of Thirds Typically you'll want your subject to be on or very near to one of the four intersecting points of the grid. For example,in the link the bee's eye is on the upper right intersection and his leg is on the lower right. Hope this helps.

No problem. I also cropped it 8x10 with the subjects sitting on the upper right point. It looked good. Nice pathway leading the eye through the shot along with the dock. Lost the natural framing from the trees etc. but I liked they way it looked. Play with it and see what you think.
