Default California sunset silhouette

This is my first attempt at a silhouette shot and was wondering what I did right or wrong and how I can improve.


Nikon D40
Lens: AF-S VR Zoom- NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED
focal length: 135mm
exposure: 1/125
ISO: 400
f/9.0

The colors are nice, and it looks like the grass (your subject) is spread evenly across the image. It's a simple shot that works rather nicely.

The sea oats look very crisp against the golden sky. I think you accomplished your goal.

I also like the blurred grass in the background, so the photo's not just two-dimensional. Nice job.
