Exclamation HDR Experiment

Took this shot yesterday at night and converted it into a HDR picture. I did two different processings and I´m not sure which ones the better option. The one in B&W seems pretty much ok to me, but the other ones a little too extreme maybe. What do you think about the the tones of the two versions, which one would you prefer?

Nikon D90
AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 3.5-5.6G ED 18-105mm
ISO Speed: ISO 100
Aperture: B&W f/11; Color f/22
Shutter Speed: According to Aperture and the lighting...between 3 and 25s
Focal Length: 70mm

The black and white is more intriguing to me. It seems like some kind of extreme structure, whereas the other version focuses simply on the pattern.
