Without knowing your specific questions, i'll just post my initial reactions.
First of all, nice use of symmetry and leading lines. However, I feel that this shot (like most) needs a focal point. When my eye was done traveling up the walkway, I wanted to find something at the end of it. Maybe a boat tied to the end, or a couple walking hand in hand. Something to add to the scene. Also, if possible, try to avoid your horizon cutting through the middle of the scene. If you have a great sky (colors, clouds, etc..) try putting your horizon in the bottom third of the scene. If you just have a bland or so-so sky, put your horizon in the top third so we can see the action in the foreground. Just some thoughts for next time. You also get some extra points for shooting this with the sun low on the horizon.
