Hello everyone. I am super new to photography and don't know much about the technical side and I'm working on my "eye" but I have a huge passion for it. Anyways I took this picture this morning and edited it up on my mac this afternoon...anyways I would love to bounce some thoughts and ideas off of you awesome people!!!

It looks like the leaves here were in the shade, while the background was in bright sunlight, or at least, less filtered sunlight. My best shots are almost always taken just at sunrise or just at sundown, regardless of the rest of the landscape.
Compositionally, I'm not sure what to suggest. As it is, this isn't very interesting. I wonder what would happen if you moved your camera around a bit and played off of some of the long lines that those leaves create? Just a suggestion. Thanks for posting, I look forward to seeing more of your shots.

Did you try shooting that one with the aperture wide open? The background adds little as it is, so I think blurring it into a colorful backdrop might be more interesting (bokeh).
