I beleive it is an interesting start to night photography but have you tought about closing up the aperture of your camera a bit to have less of a blurr in the lights. Closing up the aperture will make your exposure time go up but also will make more visually interesting star shaped lights. give it a try and see the results.

Ohh okay, I'll try that. The problem that I encountered was, that I shot the aperture too high resulting in a maxed out exposure and too little light I'll experiment more next time
