Thumbs down Autumn arrives

Hi all, this is my very 1st post so I really hope this is in the right category!

Would love to hear comments about this photo, I've taken this a few days ago in Norwich, U.K. Is there any way I can improve this? (I've touched up some tones using Lightroom)

Picture was taken with a kit lens 18-55 AF & sony DSLR a230.
It was taken at ISO 100, F-stop 22 with the creative setting on: "landscapes", focal length 18mm, exposure time 1/13, exposure bias 0 step

In terms of composition/techniques in taking this shot, is there any improvement?

Cheers and I look forward to everyone's comments!

Very pretty! I live in Texas and we don't get colors like that here! I'm jealous.

Welcome to DPS. Yes, this is the right category. I like the leaf-covered sidewalk. The one thing that bugs me is having that tree centered in the image. I would prefer to have the composition shifted to the right to emphasize the sidewalk and to get that tree off-center. The tradeoff is that you would lose the sun flare. Right now, my eye goes to that prominent tree and stops there - I would prefer a composition that leads my eye down the sidewalk instead. My two cents.

I agree, you have a great scene that has fantastic light, and good depth, but it's really compromised by the fact that the tree is in the center of the frame. Moving it off to one side and getting it out of the middle would really help increase the overall strength of this image.

Nice job, and again- really wonderful light!!
