The exposure is nice, and it's a beautiful scene but it would benefit from some foreground interest. Maybe getting lower to use the incoming surf as a strong foreground, with the beautiful colors of the sky water and sky filling in as a background, with a bit of a shift to one side or the other to move the sun a bit off center. You did a great job of making sure everything was level and nailing the exposure.

You got some great clouds. How did that sky look a few minutes later when the sun went over the horizon?

Also, I've found that beach photography gets better when you add something besides sand, water, and sky to it. Look for a rock, a piece of driftwood, or a broken shell or something to place in the lower corner to add some interest to your shot.

Almost looks like a painting. I think it all works very well together.

Although I agree with the previous comments about adding foreground interest and not centering the sun, it's still a beautiful sunset and I can see why you wanted to shoot it. I think you did well by placing the horizon at the lower third of the image. Did you do any editing to this shot?

Very nice for someone new to photography.

Beautiful Colors, the dramatic clouds are nice but I agree with the other posters about simple changes that can make a bigger impact.

Truly amazing
If you have taken with bit lower shutter speed the smooth waves may have added more beauty to the scene.

Nice shoot. TFS
