Arrow Caro's Lake in Autumn

How would you rank the quality of my Caro's lake in Autumn picture?

Is there anything I can do in Photoshop Elements 8 to improve it?

Nikon D5000, F8 1/250 and a Nikor AF-s 18-55mm lens on a tripod. Taken around 6:00pm.

It's a solid shot technically, but perhaps the composition is a little off. The real interest in the shot is the great autumn colours in the trees, but more emphasis is given to the unremarkable lake and the grass in the foreground. I would have gone around the lake a little more and looked at getting some good shots of those trees.

You'd get more replies if you posted your image here. Much easier to view on one page than flipping back and forth

Here is a link to faqs where you'll find your solution

Flickr is easy to use. At the top of your photo you'll find a button that says Share this. Click on that, copy the html code and paste that code here

Per a suggestion from Windrider86:

Took awhile to figure out how to do this, the copy & paste functions are a bit quirky.

This was my first attemt at a landscape type of picture and I had too many things to think about. I was thinking about capturing the reflections of the trees in the lake, having something in the foreground to set the scale, variaty of colors, the rule of thirds and my remote shutter release that would not work. When I turned to shoot directly across the lake, I got a really ugly wall of leaves, all of the same color.

Next time I go out there, I'll keep; your thoughts in mind and see what happens.

Thanks you for your advice.
Jim
