Default subject? composition?

Just wondering is this a stupid shot, I tried to compose a landscape of my town, Tuzla, this is the main square here, and there is time around 16:00 - 18:00 when it seems like it's asleep

the subject here was not the boy sitting, just this peacefull landscape
wondering, what do you see here??

EXIF:
shutter speed: 1/640
aperture: 3.2

I get what you are trying to do with the curved benches and path leading into the picture. I don't think it quite works though because the eye stops at the person and doesn't get back on track to continue on into the scene. However, I do think there are many great opportunties for good shots here. Just look at those colored buildings, blue, yellow, green, and coral. Combined with those red roofs and that minaret, you have lots to work with.

Definitely not a "stupid" shot. Very well composed in my opinion. The placement of the male subject is a little debatable. I would want him closer to the lens, or not there at all. If he was working with you, toning the clothing down might have been a plus.

You have a well thought out and beautiful photo. Though I had a short pause following the line, I did continue to the buildings. Might have been less pause if he were wearing gray, but the photo works for me.

I can't help but think about the curved steps to the right. I would like to see the difference if you used those as the lead in to the buildings. Just take a few to the right. It could work, or not.

I like this shot too, definitely not stupid. I found the curves led me into the picture very well and I found myself coming back to the person. The only thing that bugged my (a tiny bit) was those steps on the right - I wondered if there was something more there - a building? fountain? so a little distracting. But the wonderful colours you have there have so much potential, much prettier than my town!

sterling and michale_2010@ yeah, ur right, this boy was waiting for someone and blocking this great view, I thought maybe if I make him appear smaller he won't be a distraction, that apparentlly didn't work

PWhite214@ good idea, I might use that sometimes

NgaiHill@ tnx! and yeah it is a fountain, good guessing, now when I look at it again, the fountain is distracting
I'll probably do another shot of this and I'll share it here, just to see if I improved
